A Taste of Rilao

The story of Rilao coming into being through the encounter of two distant distinct land masses has been celebrated as an essential building block in Rilaoan Society.

One of its manifestations is Rilao’s national dish which symbolises the making of Rilao materialised in three elements: sea, land and Rilaoan palm; Rilao’s three main deities: Repetere, Randa and Wundrian and finally the three main ethnic groups: Americans, Brazilians and Rilaoans.

However, in this greatly divided society, the ritual, the dish, the recipe and the protagonists vary greatly, creating conflicting narratives of what tradition, national unity, vision and reality actually are.
